Professional Bio:

Jennifer McLain McLemore is a partner in Christian & Barton’s Bankruptcy group (http://www.cblaw.com/).  Mrs. McLemore focuses her practice on representing creditors and debtors in chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy proceedings and, on a limited basis, creditors in chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. 

From August, 2001 until August, 2002, Mrs. McLemore was a judicial clerk for the Honorable F. G. Rockwell III and the Honorable William R. Shelton, Judges of the Circuit Court of Chesterfield County, Va and from August, 2002 through August, 2003 she was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Douglas O. Tice Jr., Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Examples of matters recently handled by Mrs. McLemore include representing:

• Creditors in defense of preference actions, fraudulent transfer actions, and claim objections

• Creditors seeking payment of administrative expenses and cure claims

• Creditors in dischargeability and objection to discharge litigation

• Secured creditors with collateral was being sold under the provisions of the Bankruptcy Code

• Creditors seeking to provide post-petition financing to Chapter 11 debtors

• Corporations purchasing assets out of a bankruptcy estate

• Creditors objecting to confirmation of a debtor's plan of reorganization

• Creditors opposing a debtor's use of cash collateral

• Creditors seeking to collect multi-million dollar judgments

• Chapter 7 trustees

• Chapter 11 debtors in single-asset real estate bankruptcy cases

• Landlord creditors in retail Chapter 11 cases
